Dione Occenad-Nimmo, MD, FACOG, is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is known for providing compassionate care to her patients and for her servant leadership within the community.

Dr. Occenad-Nimmo attended undergraduate at the University of Miami where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with minors in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Biology. She received the highest honor at the University of Miami by obtaining membership into the Iron Arrow Honor Society. While studying in medical school, she passed her nursing licensure exam (NCLEX) and became a registered nurse. She received her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Occenad completed her residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a resident, she was awarded the Helen Lansman Award as "the resident who has shown the greatest compassion towards patients” during her training. After residency, she did 2 years in private practice in the Broward area, followed by 7 years as an OB/GYN Hospitalist in the Broward and Palm Beach area.

Dr. Occenad-Nimmo is happily married and has 2 children. She enjoys learning more about spirituality, spending time with her family, reading, running, and being involved in organizations. Since 2012, she has held several leadership roles in the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) and is currently serving as the ACOG Early Career Fellow Representative for District XII (State of Florida & Columbia). She is a staff member at Palms West Hospital and serves on the Peer Review Committee for the hospital. She is also a proud member of the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society, William A. Little Obstetrical and Gynecological Alumni Society, Florida Medical Association, National Medical Association, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and The MOMCo.

In her practice, Dr. Occenad-Nimmo strives to provide evidence-based care and stays up to date with ACOG guidelines. She is a strong advocate for women and women’s health. She enjoys learning about people and different cultures. Dr. Occenad-Nimmo is proficient in Spanish and Haitian Creole and looks forward to serving a diverse population.
