Annual Exams:  Annual exams are recommended for all women. Pap smears should be performed on any woman who is sexually active or over the age of 21. Also recommended for women 30 years or older is the HPV test (Human Papillomavirus). In addition a breast exam is part of the annual exam. We encourage monthly self-breast exams and will teach patients how to do this properly. In women over the age of 40 or at higher risk for breast cancer, we strongly encourage mammogram screenings.

Birth Control:  We are happy to provide counseling for the growing variety of birth control options. We offer several hormonal contraceptive options including birth control pills, extended use pills, the Patch (www.orthoevra.com), the NuvaRing® (www.nuvaring.com) and Depo Provera injections. We also perform Nexplanon, IUD insertion and removal. We offer both hormonal and non-hormonal IUD’s. Sterilization procedures are described under “Surgeries”.

Endometriosis Evaluation & Treatment:   Endometriosis is the abnormal growth of uterine-lining tissue outside of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries or pelvic lining. Complete Healthcare for Women provides both non-surgical and surgical treatment for endometriosis, which depends on several factors including the extent and severity of the condition. Endometriosis is a common problem that needs monitoring and treatment because complications may lead to pain and infertility.

Family Planning:  If you are thinking about getting pregnant, want to expand your current family or prevent pregnancy, we encourage you to speak with one of our care providers to discuss options that may be beneficial to you.

Menopause Management:  Menopause “the change of life” is a normal and natural part of a woman’s aging process. Age of onset, duration, and symptoms differ among women. There are many options that can be used to help ease the symptoms that may trouble you including hormone replacement therapy, other alternatives and life style changes.

Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis (“porous bone”)a progressive bone disease that is linked with increased risk of fractures; it is a major health problem in the United States. According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons the disease affects 28 million Americans and often goes unnoticed for many years. Osteoporosis can be prevented when detected at its earlier stage known as osteopenia.

PMS/PMDD: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) includes a variety of symptoms such as headaches, abdominal pain, digestion problems, sleep difficulties, mood changes, and thought processing difficulties. These symptoms occur 5 to 11 days before a woman’s period begins. Some women experience premenstrual dysphonic disorder (PMDD), a severe form of PMS. PMDD and PMS are real medical conditions, and it is important to receive appropriate treatment.

STD Screening and Treatment: We offer counseling and screening for a variety of sexually transmitted diseases. We can prescribe treatment for most STD’s. .

Vaccines:

  • Gardasil — Series of 3 injections completed in a 6 month period that decrease the risk of cervical cancer and vaginal warts. www.gardasil.com.
  • DTaP — (Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis)
  • Hepatitus A & B
  • Influenza

Pregnancy Care, Labor, & Delivery:

The staff at Complete Healthcare for Woman has the experience and knowledge to help make your pregnancy and delivery as pleasant as possible. You will be scheduled for regular check-ups to monitor your health, as well as that of your developing baby. We will provide you with education and healthy pregnancy tips along the way. We encourage our patients to ask questions. We look forward to delivering and welcoming your baby into the world!

Circumcision:

Our physicians perform male circumcisions in the newborn period. This can either be done in the hospital following delivery or in the office. Our office staff can assist you in determining your insurance coverage for your newborn’s circumcision.

High-Risk Pregnancy:

A pregnancy may be termed high-risk if you have a medical condition or develop one during pregnancy. All pregnancies in women over the age of 35 are considered high-risk. With careful monitoring and management, most women with high-risk pregnancy deliver healthy babies. Depending on the risks identified, the physicians at Complete Healthcare for Woman will refer you to specialists as necessary. We work together as a team so that you can have the best medical care possible.
